the sacrament of marriage
Marriage, a lifelong union between a man and a woman for procreation and mutual support, is a natural institution. As a sacrament, it reflects the union of Jesus Christ and His Church. It is also known as the Sacrament of Matrimony.
In Matrimony a baptized man and woman are united with each other as a sign of the unity between Jesus and his Church. Matrimony requires the consent of the couple, as expressed in the marriage promises. It is the only Sacrament of the Catholic Church where the celebrant ministers are the Bridegroom and Bride before God Himself, reason why the bond cannot be dissolved. The Priest, the best man, the bride of honor and the rest of the community witness the exchange of vows under this sacred covenant. The couple and their wedding rings are the signs of this sacrament.
For information about the process of setting a date, perquisites and preparing for Matrimony, please set a meeting with the Pastor, Fr. Francisco Sordo. He can be reached thru the Parish Office.
