Lent is the most beautiful, transformative, compelling, and significant of all our liturgical seasons.
It is from where our faith began. Christianity would not exist without the unfathomable, but fully witnessed return of our Lord from the dead. Many rejoice in Lent, looking forward to the unfolding of our treasured ritual and customs.Others feel incovenienced by the obligation of Fasting and Penance. Some suffer a sense of guilt or despondency. While others feel desinterested with too familiar, now uninspiring practices... But this Lent, we could take five minutes each day to sit quietly, perhaps in our cars in the morning or on our bedsides at night, and simply let God come to us, to enter us, heal us, nourish us, and transform us for a lent which could be a turning point in our lives as true Disciple of Christ, his Beloved Creation from whom he rose again. A Word From Pastor Chris: "All Aborad!" This Sunday, Feb 23rd, is the last contribution to my homily series on Personal Transformation and Parish Renewal, ... but Not it’s conclusion! The series is intended to be just the beginning of leading our beloved parish family into a time of renewal and growth, both in our personal encounters with Christ, and in discovering our God-given gifts and powers in sharing Christ's Good News. Stay tuned for workshops and presentations throughout Lent designed to help and guide us on this exciting journey of transformation! "All aboard - Flight No. 2020 - Destination: Paradise!" |
