St Joseph Parish Welcoming Committee was created in September 2016, with the purpose of assuming the responsibilities of the former Social Committee, while focusing the efforts on the "welcoming" aspect of hospitality.
The Welcoming committee has provided social time with refreshments for most of the 20 baptisms since then. It also has organized socials for the Lenten Retreat, First Communion, Confirmation and other meetings. It has been introducing new parishioners at Mass, as well as supporting the Spanish Masses and Fiesta for the seasonal Mexican workers, running work clothes and luggage collection, and the recent Sombrero project. It has provided bulletin boards for both churches with events' photos, and has created a memories page on the Parish Website. Currently the Welcoming Committee operates with a small number of members who remain excited about the opportunities to create a more welcoming parish community.
